Receipt Wallet is a privacy-first receipt manager. The short version: your receipt library lives on your device with no account, and we never sell your receipts. To read a receipt you scan, its photo is sent to a third-party AI service to be turned into text, and the free app is supported by ads.
When you scan a receipt, its image is sent to a third-party AI service (Google, via Firebase AI Logic) that reads it and returns the details — merchant, date, amounts and items. We do not keep a copy of the image, and no account ties it to you; Google processes it under its own terms. When cloud reading is off or unavailable, an on-device reader is used instead and nothing leaves your device.

If you use backup/export, a backup file is written to a location you choose and handed to your device's share sheet. We never receive it. There is no login and no cloud storage of your receipt library.
The free app is supported by ads through AppLovin MAX and its mediated ad networks. These use your device advertising ID and standard ad signals to show personalized ads — which counts as tracking — and share that data with those ad networks. They never see your receipts or what you bought, and we never share your receipt content with advertisers. Premium removes ads.
Premium is an in-app subscription. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to validate and restore subscriptions; it receives a random app-instance identifier (not your name or email), the store's purchase/receipt data and subscription status, and basic device/country information from the transaction. To keep the app stable and understand which features are used, we may collect anonymous usage and crash data through Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics): anonymous usage events, device model, OS and app version, coarse region, and the device/app state at the time of a crash.
This diagnostic data never includes the content of your receipts — no images, no amounts, no merchant names, no extracted text. In the European Economic Area and the UK this collection is subject to your consent. See Google's privacy policy.
If announcements are turned on, the app registers with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send occasional news — new features and important changes. Registering stores one thing on our side: a push token for your device, saved against the same per-device identifier the free cloud-scan quota already uses.
We want to be plain about that, because it is the one place the app keeps a durable record tied to your device. The token is an address that can reach your phone with a notification, and it lasts until you turn announcements off or uninstall. There is still no account and no name attached to it, and it is never linked to a receipt, an amount or a merchant.
Turning announcements off in Settings → Notifications deletes the token and the stored registration, and stops a new one being created — a withdrawal, not a filter. Warranty reminders are a different thing entirely: your device schedules those itself, they need no network and no token, and they keep working either way.
Receipt Wallet is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your receipt library lives on your device, so you control it directly: delete items in the app, or uninstall the app to remove all local data. You can withdraw analytics consent and reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings, and contact us to exercise your rights under GDPR/CCPA.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
